Loraine Lester
Loraine Lester is AVP of Product & Underwriting Development.
Loraine joined Farmers in November of 2015 as a Product Manager. She has acquired an extensive background in property and casualty underwriting
and product management, beginning her career in underwriting in 1993 as a rating specialist with Preferred Mutual Insurance Company. In 1995
Loraine was promoted to an underwriting position within the organization handling the New York territory. In 2005 Loraine was promoted to the
position of Underwriting Territory Manager where she managed the underwriting department that handled the states of New York and New Jersey for
personal auto and personal property insurance. She managed 9 underwriters and a territory with 125 million in direct written premium. Loraine
joined Farmers in November of 2015 as a multi-line product manager. She handled the development of rates, rules and forms for Farmers for all
line of business. In 2019 her position shifted to the development and deployment of the new policy administration system. In January of 2021
Loraine joined Mutual Underwriters an MGA based in Carmel, IN where she was the Director of Underwriting managing underwriting of several
programs including coastal business and high-risk agriculture insurance. In 2022 Loraine rejoined Farmers of Salem as the AVP of Product & Underwriting Development.
Loraine holds an Associate in Personal Insurance and a Certificate in General Insurance from the Insurance Institute of America. She holds a
certificate in NAMIC’s annual Personal Lines Seminar. She has provided input in the redesign of American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS)
homeowner program. Loraine is the recipient of the Design Studio Award from Innovative Computer Systems (FINYS). She has served as a Vice
President of the Maryland Association of Mutual Insurers (MAMIC). Loraine is an active member of the Project Management Institute and the Project Management Institute of Delaware Valley.
